RIGGING
TRAINING AND SAFETY COURSES
These
courses were developed to enable rigging
and supervisory personnel to perform
their rigging jobs with appropriate knowledge
of the equipment available to them and
with a safety-consciousness of their work.
All commonly available types of rigging
and hardware are covered in the courses.
They all reference the applicable regulatory
standards for the topics they cover. While
some of the courses were originally designed
to be instructor-taught sessions, they
can be self-taught. Most of the courses
are available on multiple media: video,
CD and DVD and all attendees will receive
certificates of attendance. |

Introductory Prevention of
Rigger Mortis
This is an 80 minute video course that
follows the Slingmax® Riggers Handbook
and includes a half-hour test. The
package includes an Instructor’s
Manual and answer key for the course
leader. It is designed to be completed
in a two-hour safety meeting.
A Riggers
Handbook is provided as reference material
for each course participant. This is
a starter course for riggers, safety
personnel, engineers, and their supervisors.
|
|
Prevention of Rigger Mortis
This course consists of 16 modules that
can be tailored to a company’s
needs from four hours to two ful
days of instruction. It is available
on CD or DVD and covers such topics
as: load control, sling loading,
and rigging design. A workbook follows
the course topics and is accompanied
by the Slingmax® Riggers
Handbook. A detailed Answer Key is provided
for the instructor. |

SLING
AND RIGGING HARDWARE INSPECTION COURSES
|
Introductory
Inspection
This is a starter course for quality assurance
inspectors, sales people, supervisors,
and
riggers who want to know how to inspect
their equipment. The course is 50 minutes
long and is available on video and DVD. |
 |
Sling
and Hardware Inspection
This advanced course is independent of
the rigging training and safety courses
because rigging
hardware inspectors do not have to be riggers.
This course is available on CD and DVD
with a
workbook. Inspectors have an answer key
and a list of samples required to make
this course a
hands-on experience for the participants.
|
TRAIN-THE-TRAINER
COURSE
This course is available as an instructortaught
course only. It trains instructors
to teach the two advanced courses:
Prevention of Rigger Mortis and Sling
and Hardware Inspection. In addition to
the technical course materials, it includes
topics such as workshop structure and
training and communication techniques.
It requires three full days. |
